Collections of Books are Great Contents in Mother's Day Gift Baskets

There are many ways to make Mother's Day gift baskets unique and special to the recipient. While there are many things that you can buy for your mom, it is very important to consider the things that matter most to her. Thus, take time to plan and look around on the things that your mom needs. Books are one of the things that almost all people enjoy during their leisure time.

If your mom is on her senior years, then you can give her a collection of books. You can find lots of topics that are suited to old folks. There are lots of books that are inspirational. Some books also have topics related to self-improvement. Choose any book that you know will stir the interest of your mom. Normally, you have to consider the age and need of the person you give the gift basket to.

Mother's Day is a celebration for all the mothers. Hence, it doesn't mean that you only give a gift to your mother. If you are a married man and have kids, then it is very important that you also give a gift to your wife. For a loving husband, nothing compares to the happiness he feels when his wife appreciate his gift. So, you can give her a gift basket that contains some personal things like perfume, lotions, or makeups. A book on appreciating the beauty of a woman will add value to the gift basket. She can read the book while relaxing on the tub or during a cup of coffee in the morning. Such gift will give her additional confidence being a woman.

Those who are expecting, first-time moms will truly be excited to receive Mother's Day gift baskets. Because this is the first time that they are going to have a baby, they want to know how to do things correctly. Hence, they want to read books related to pregnancy and motherhood. Thus, you can make this situation as your basis in making the gift basket for her. You can pick up 3 or 5 small books that you know can help her get through the tough times of pregnancy. Of course, you should include some things that the baby will need such as baby clothes, baby cap, gloves and bibs. These are just little things that she will appreciate. Most of all, the knowledge that she'll get from the books you gave will be the one that she'll forever be thankful to you.

Short For Summer!

The short that I am wearing in this picture is my new shorts from forever 21, I like all the style and everything though I don’t wear a lot of them but this one is just irresistible! I like the color and how comfy they are! I bought this one first week of spring and just got a chance to wear it now because the weather is nice and warm. I might be wearing this short a lot!

On the news

Written by my friend Teodoro Martin

Last spring the school I work for was on the evening news on a local channel on Directv. There had been a teacher working at the school that was really a terrible teacher. You could walk into his class at any given time during the day, and instead of teaching the subject he was supposed to be teaching, he would be playing his electric guitar and strumming out Stairway to Heaven. I don’t know what planet he came from, but he was absolutely not a good fit for our school. Since he had only been there one year, he did not have a contract. A teacher can be released at the end of one year of teaching at a school with no explanation as to why he or she is being let go. The day after he learned the news that he would not be returning to our school the next year, he decided not to come to work. Instead a bunch of his “friends” started picketing outside of our school protesting the fact that he had not been asked to return. Of course the news media had been notified, probably by the teacher, and they were out in full force with reporters and cameramen taping a segment for the news that night. I always thought if they had known the whole story they never would have come out.

Nice New Shirt for me!

Ditsy Button Up Top

I found this simple yet nice polo shirt yesterday at Wetseal and I am loving every bit of it! I was trying so hard not to indulge myself in that shirt but I still end up buying it, of course with my own money. I am very excited because this shirt is perfect for spring. Not overyly showy and not too cold to wear outside. It will be here in a few days! What do you think of this top friends?

Few Reasons

Guest post written by my buddy Judy Guerrero

There are only a few reasons I would have moved from Georgia because I want to that place so much and my family was there. Unfortunately for me one of those reasons what if my husband needed to move and as it turns out he got offered the job of a lifetime across the country so there was really little we can do about it. We've now started settling into the new house which I'm really excited about and I miss my family I think it's going to be a nice life here. I went to www.tvbydirect.com to get us the cable channels were used to and I've been talking to a painter about coming in and painting the whole apartment. I keep calling it an apartment, it's actually a house! It's the first time in our life we've owned our own house and it's taking some getting used to for me. I really love being a homeowner got and I'm happy that my husband likes his job. All in all this was a good move for us.

Boots I loved!

St. John's Bay® Suede Becka Boots

Hubby bought this boots last year from JCPenny and I have been wearing it since then! I have several pairs of boots but this one is my all time favorite! I like how comfy and warm they are and the length is just perfect of my height. Temperature is getting warmer here which means I cannot wear this boots anymore for months. I will surely miss wearing my boots but that’s okay because flip-flops are not bad either!

Living the Dream

Contribution by Stevie Kirby

My son, who is in college, just moved out of his dorm into a house with three other roommates. The house has four bedrooms with four bathroom, a big living room, a huge kitchen, and a deck where they can cook out on the grill all the time. I mean seriously I wish I could go back to college and live the dream. They even have a huge flat screen TV to watch constant sports that they set up through www.CannonSatellite.com. I am just amazed at everything that is available to college students these days. Even the dorms he used to live in were huge with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. They were like apartments with every convenience imaginable. Gone are the tiny dorm rooms with lofted twin beds that had matching comforters and everything else you own underneath. I know that all the new dorms and student houses they have these days are top of the line and entice students to come to that college or university. But somehow I feel that students these days are missing out on the experiences that we had to suffer through. I think suffering through tough times makes you appreciate the finer things later in life.

Successful Holidays!

I made this delicious dinner for Christmas and according to my husband, it was his favorite steak ever. I cook the steak in the barbecue grill and I am so proud of myself to see my food, it's perfectly cooked and soft. The hungry tummy was full!

Freezing

It's freezing here! the lake was covered with ice and snow as well as the ground. It's way early to have this freezing temperature. Last year, we do not have snow until the end of december but this time, we have like 5 to 6 inches of snow already! I went to the store yesterday and do not want to go out from the car..it is too cold for me. I like the magical white ground but I do not like the freezing temperature.

Yummy!

We had fun with our thanksgiving dinner, it turn our pretty good even if there are only four of us, I am praying that next year we will be able to celebrate it with my in-laws. They lived 3 days drive away from us and with the freezing temperature and thick snow, it is impossible for them to visit us here. There are still lot's of left over and maybe I can make some soup tomorrow out of that stuff. It is very hard to consume all the food when they are only few people eating it. How's your turkey dinner everyone?

My Sweetest Husband

I've been married for almost four years  with my hubby Jason but until now he is still as sweet as ever. Simple things really make a difference when you are together for several years. I never felt I was just taken for granted since I move here in the States. After all those years he never changed even with his busy schedule at work and the demand for him to travel, he always make sure he calls and give us his warm loving words specially before our son go to bed. It really helped me too to talk to my son while Dad is on the phone before bedtime so he heard his daddy's voice saying goodnight . So even Daddy is away, we still felt together as family even on phone. Not just that, he always take home something like his last business trip to Las Vegas , he brought me some chocolates. I love chocolates and recieving it from him makes it much more special. Even way back in Philippines I always try different varieties of chocolates from dark chocolates, milk chocolates , cream filled, caramel filled, with or without nuts and white chocolates. It may be local or imported chocolates at no particular brand, they all taste delicious to me. I think my son is becoming like me, though I try to make sure I assist him to brush his teeth after he munch some chocolates. Chocolates tatse great but they are not good for the teeth. What can I say? His mommy just have a sweet tooth. That is probably why my husband never forget to give me and my son some chocolates, although it does not matter if he does  or not but the he is just so thoughtful and always remember bringing something when he come home .  I just feel so loved and tickled everytime he does this and of course my son felt the same way.  I am still munching some of the chocolates he gave me . Whew! it is hard to lose weight with all these but it is hard to resist.

I Am Cold!

It is almost 12 noon here but still the temperature is dropping. I guess this is only means that summer is over and we are going to have snow soon. I am frustrated because some ofmy vegetables are just starting to come out and I do not think they will survive if it's freezing outside. Oh well, what else I can do? better luck next time..It's cold inside the house right now even if the heater is on..

Carrots From My Own Garden!

I finally able to harvest carrots from my very own garden! I have been waiting this moment to harvest from my own sweat and I finally did. I am going to make hubby's favorite carrot cake tonight as our desert. I am proud to myself that inspite of my busy schedule, I was able to grow something in my own backyard. Gardening is fun and exciting!

Thoughts For Today

There are times in life when we become discouraged because of something bad that happened that we don't fully understand. When this happens, we are to be conscious to the fact that we have not seen the full picture of what is yet to come and should not judge that situation as purely negative. All of us have been through situations that seemed bad at the time, but when we look back on it months and years later, we see how that "bad" situation helped us grow in wisdom, strength and faith. We are to trust that God is in control and will work all things out for our good in His time. We must also trust in His wisdom and remember that we're in safe Hands no matter the trial or tribulation that comes before us. (Isaiah 49:13-16) (Proverbs 3:5)

The Benefits Of Web Hosting

My friend has been talking about how she wanted to upgrade her site due to increase traffic volume and she wanted to accommodate the growing needs with a dependable web hosting. I did not know how well her online business was doing until I heard her getting serious about this upgrade. She is thinking that maybe she needs a colocation because she has her own server and wanted it well taking cared in hands of experts so it will give her more peace of mind to know someone will take care of it that knows what they are doing.

She always likes to say, leave it to the experts! I guess it all makes sense so all she has to do is manage her online business and someone will look after the rest. She said it is a big loss if her server is down because it will put her online store unavailable for business for that certain period until it is fixed, that is why it is crucial for her server to be on tiptop shape and back up all her data. No wonder why she always gets a headache when her old server used to keep giving her a problem. All these really sound foreign to me but interesting to listen to so I can get few input if I do need a managed hosting someday.  I can see why my friend is becoming successful on her online business, because she always thinks ahead and only wants the best service for her online customers.

Get Over It People!

It's been 2 days now since the Miss Universe was aired yet people are still affected. Most of my friend's update in Facebook was all about Venus who maid a major mistake on her question and answer portion. I saw a video clip from youtube that says, even high profile people are having a hard time to answer personal question especially if you are onstage or live on tv. It is not easy to answer personal question especially if you only have 30 seconds. So people, get over it! stop saying negative things to Venus, no one's born perfect!

Working Hard!

We are working hard to finish all the work in our yard, we are half way there but there are still lots of things to do. The blocks and sand that we ordered last week arrived today. We are still waiting for our outdoor and garden materials to complete the work. According to my husband, we are slaving ourselves just for our yard and I agreed but at the same time happy that I can finally spent some time outside and enjoy the warm weather.

I cannot wait to set up my outdoor furniture in our balcony and set the barbecue tools. I love grilling; it’s one of the reasons why I wanted to fix the yard and was planning to plant few fruit tress so we can put the hammocks that we got last year. This is going to be a busy year for us and I hope that we can finish all the work before winter.I wish I am a millionaire so I can just hire someone to work on our yard or maybe buy a place that does not need any work .

Best Place To Travel

Has anyone checked to any http://www.myrtlebeachgolf.net/ website recently? We are considering going to this place and I wanted to hear some feedback from anyone who has been there recently. I always heard rumors how beautiful the place was and I read it from their website too how fun and nice Myrtle Beach golf courses. I always wanted to go to a place where I can enjoy the sound of the ocean. I need it badly! I am sick and tired hearing car honks everyday; I want to indulge myself in place where all I can hear is the sea waves and the birds.

I looked at Myrtle Beach golf packages and their prices and found a nice place to stay. I have to wait for husband’s approval first if he likes the place too. He always likes to play golf and I think the place is the perfect one for him and for me as well. The place is close to nature and to the ocean, it would be a fun vacation for the whole family, especially to my son who has never been to a beach yet.
